Break

I was inspired by the song Break, by Three Days Grace (the song can be found under my music page), for this specific painting. This actually started out as a doodle I did in class once, and the song just seemed to fit. I feel that the atmosphere of the image really speaks about the nature of the song, or at least the way I interpreted it.

The idea is that he is tired of the norm in the regular life of surbia, sick of the aspects of having to fit in with everyone else. He has decided to break away from the average and be his own self. In placing him above the city, he has elevated himself above the others, and the song mentions taking yourself to higher places, though I think this applies mentally. As for the car, who doesn’t like a lime green mustang?
